This Little Piggy Went to Market
We went to Market for dinner tonight. It is on Randolph in the West Loop. Overall, a fantastic dining experience. The food was incredible and so unique. Everything we ordered was so tasty and well-prepared. See the photos below for our choices! The food presentation is one of the best things about this restaurant. All the dishes and serving ware are so different. Here is the menu, so take a look. Definitely try the Popcorn Shrimp as a starter! Next time, I’d like to order the Mac & Cheese Muffins. The Pebble Beach Wedge Salad sounds good too! This restaurant has four dining options: outside on the patio, outside on the rooftop, inside at the bar, or inside in the dining room. We sat outside at one of the sidewalk tables, which is part of the patio setting. It was a really nice evening with perfect weather, and it is a quiet area in the fruit/vegetable/meat market area of Chicago. It did get more and more crowded the longer we were there, and the patio filled to capacity. If you’re looking to sit outside, I suggest going between 5-6 on a weeknight to ensure that you’ll get a table.
One complaint - The hosts were completely annoying and kept complaining about diners audibly. They obviously weren’t aware that their position can be the WORST in the restaurant business when they took the job, because as a host you do have to keep tabs on every table and every server in the restaurant, which is very stressful. But its the diner’s first impression of the restaurant, so please put a smile on. Otherwise, all of the other staff members were very friendly and the wait service was excellent! Give Market a try!
